If you need extra time between a customer ordering and their delivery slot, you can add preparation times.
To add preparation times for local delivery orders, follow the written steps below.
Add preparation times
Click Locations.
Select the location you want to edit.
In the Local Delivery section, click Show settings.
In the Delivery preparation time section, click Enabled to reveal the advance notice settings. You’ll see a tab for each day of the week you offer delivery.
By default we set a minimum advance notice of 1 day. Choose how many hours, minutes, or days of preparation time you need:
0 days shows the first available slot
1 day blocks same-day delivery
2 days blocks next-day delivery
24 hours is exactly 24 hours from when the customer orders
For example, for customers ordering on a Sunday, the same day (Sunday) is blocked out, so the first available slot is Monday.
You can also add a cut-off time. After the cut-off time, you can set a new preparation time. By default the cut-off time is 0 days.
Repeat for every day of the week, then click Save.
⚠️ Important: “1 day” is not the same as “24 hours”. 1 day blocks same-day delivery, while 24 hours counts exactly 24 hours from when the customer places their order.
💡 Tip: Set preparation time for every day of the week — you may need to add it even for days you don’t offer delivery. These settings are per location, so repeat for each location.
You can now test the preparation times in the widget.
