With our delivery validation feature, you can check whether a customer is eligible for delivery. Depending on the postcode entered in the widget, a matching delivery location will be selected.
Partial postal code matching checks the postcode the customer enters against the partial postcodes you've added to each location's settings. A postcode is eligible if it starts with any of the values you've added.
💡 Tip: Use partial matching when you deliver to a long list of postcodes — you can cover hundreds of them with just a few prefixes (e.g. SW1 matches SW1A 1AA, SW10, SW11, etc.). For a short, specific list, exact matching is usually a better fit.
⚠️ Important: Postcodes can't overlap between locations. Each location must have a unique set of partial postcodes — including their prefixes.
To set up partial postal code matching, follow the written steps below.
Examples of partial postal codes
You can enter any set of numbers or letters in a location's settings. A postcode the customer enters in the widget will be eligible if it starts with the value you've added.

⚠️ Important: A very short prefix (like just 1) will match a huge range — including postcodes you may not actually deliver to. Use the most specific prefix that still covers your area.
Enable partial postal code matching
Click Settings, then Local Delivery.
In the Distance validation section, select Partial postal code match.
Click Save.
The validation method is set. Next, add eligible partial postcodes to every location that offers delivery.
Add postal codes to a location
Click Locations.
Select the location you want to edit.
In the Local delivery section, click Edit settings.
In the Distance validation field, enter your partial eligible postcodes, separated by commas.
Click Save.
💡 Tip: Repeat for every location that offers local delivery — and double-check that no prefix in one location overlaps with another location's prefixes.
