What are Win Backs?
Win Backs turns a canceled subscriber into a saved reactivation campaign. You choose the audience and offer, write a short message, and Appstle creates a secure, branded offer page plus copy-and-paste snippets for Appstle email, Klaviyo, or SMS. Each setup is saved as a reusable campaign — so you can review, pause, reuse, and measure it instead of rebuilding a link each time.
When a customer opens the link, they land on a branded comeback page and reactivate in one click. Appstle never sends anything automatically, and an invalid, expired, or ineligible link never exposes customer or subscription details.
Where to find it
Open Cross-Sell & Upsell and choose Win Backs (under "Loyalty, referrals, and partner growth").
Win Backs is available on Business Premium with Quick Actions enabled.
Manage everything from this page — create a new campaign, edit an existing one, or archive campaigns you no longer use.
How campaigns work
Every win-back setup is saved as a campaign with its own status, so you always know what each one is for:
Draft — saved while you finalize the message and offer.
Active — the offer page and reactivation link are live and ready to send.
Paused — set aside for now; its settings are kept so you can resume later.
Archived — retired and hidden from the list. Archiving never deletes links you already sent.
The hosted offer link only works while the campaign is Active and before its end date. In Draft or Paused status, after the end date, or for anyone the offer doesn't apply to, the page shows a safe "offer not available" message and reveals no subscription details. Status and end date are how you control when the link is live.
Step 1 — Choose your audience
Canceled subscriptions — invite customers whose subscription is canceled to reactivate. This is the audience available today.
Paused subscriptions and customers with no active subscription are coming next. For a pause-specific link today, use Quick Actions.
Step 2 — Set the offer
Reactivate only — the link simply reactivates the subscription at its usual price.
Reactivate with a discount code — enter an existing Shopify discount code (for example, COMEBACK20). Appstle applies the code right after the customer confirms reactivation.
Step 3 — Write the message
Headline, Message, and Button text — the wording your customer reads on the offer page and in your email or SMS. A live preview shows exactly what they'll see as you type.
Campaign name — an internal label; customers never see it.
Status — Draft, Active, or Paused.
End date (optional) — when the offer should stop working. After this date the link expires and shows the safe unavailable page. Leave blank for no end date.
Step 4 — Generate and share the link
Sending tool — choose Appstle Email Templates, Klaviyo, or SMS. This sets the correct merge variables for your tool.
Format — Appstle email link, Klaviyo button, Klaviyo text link, SMS message, or plain URL.
Test it first (optional) — search a customer and pick one of their subscriptions to generate a real, working test link. Leave blank to keep the reusable template version.
Copy the output into your email or SMS tool, or Save to Quick Actions to keep the link with your Quick Action Links.
The copy-ready link becomes available once the campaign is Active and within its end date.
How the link personalizes itself
When you leave the test fields blank, the generated link already contains the right merge variables for your selected tool, so each recipient gets a link for their own subscription. Paste it in as-is:
Appstle Email Templates:
{{customer.token}}and{{subscriptionContractId}}Klaviyo:
{{event.customer_token}}and{{event.subscriptionContractId}}
Your email or SMS platform fills these in when the message is sent. The same link works for both new Shopify customer accounts and the legacy customer portal.
What your customer sees
They open a branded offer page with your headline and message, a summary of their subscription and delivery schedule, when it would restart, and your discount if you added one — all while signed in with their own secure token.
They tap the button, review the details, and confirm. The subscription reactivates and your discount code is applied automatically.
Only eligible canceled subscriptions can be reactivated, and reactivation follows your normal customer-portal rules. If the link is invalid, expired, or doesn't match the customer's account, the page shows a safe "offer not available" message with no details.
Track performance
Each campaign has a built-in performance view so you can see how it's doing:
Visits, Attempts, Reactivated, Needs attention, Conversion, and Recovered revenue (where it can be calculated).
A recent activity feed of views, reactivations, and failed attempts. It uses subscription IDs only, so customer names and emails stay private.
Every reactivation is also recorded on the subscription's own activity timeline.
Not included yet
This version focuses on reactivating canceled subscribers with an optional discount. Not yet included:
Paused or lapsed-customer audiences
Product add-on, prepaid, or frequency-change offers
A/B testing of messages and offers
Automatic sending or scheduling — Appstle never emails your customers for you; you decide when and how the link goes out.
