What this video covers
This 2-minute video shows how to set up a Phased campaign on the Failed Payment Recovery page.
In short
A phased campaign splits your retry schedule into phases. Each phase has Attempts, Interval (days) and an Active checkbox. The delete icon removes a phase.
Phases run in order, so early phases can retry quickly and later phases can space attempts out.
If every attempt fails, your If every attempt fails choice applies, the same as with Fixed schedule.
More attempts give you more failed payments to attach recovery discounts to.
Good to know
Phase 1 includes the original charge. A phase 1 with 1 attempt is only the original charge on the billing date, with no retries. The starter phase you get when you select Phased campaign has 1 attempt, so add attempts or another phase to get retries.
The summary line now counts from the original charge. In the video, one phase with 1 attempt shows "spans 3 days". The page now shows 0 days, because that phase makes no retries.
An example: phase 1 with 2 attempts, 1 day apart, then phase 2 with 3 attempts, 5 days apart, charges on days 0, 1, 6, 11 and 16. That's the original charge plus 4 retries.
Switching back: your Fixed schedule settings stay saved while a phased campaign runs. If you switch back to Fixed schedule and save, your phases are removed.
New since the video: the Recovery schedule below your phases shows the day of every retry, and Smart retry is now called Fixed schedule.
Phased campaign is included in the Business Premium, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus plans.
