Before your customers can manage their subscriptions, you’ll need to make sure your store is properly set up.
🧩 Check Your Shopify Customer Account Type
Before you begin, check which Shopify customer account type your store is using.
This ensures you follow the correct setup process for adding the Manage Subscription button.
🪜 Steps:
1️⃣ In your Shopify admin, go to ⚙️ Settings → Customer accounts.
2️⃣ Identify your active account type:

🧱 Adding a Manage Subscription Button (Customer Accounts)
You can easily add the Manage Subscription button to your Shopify Customer Account page — no coding required!
This button allows customers to access and manage their subscriptions directly from their account dashboard.
🧰 Step 1: Open the Theme Editor
In your Shopify admin, go to:
Online Store → Themes → CustomizeThis opens the Theme Editor, where you can edit your storefront’s design.
🧭 Step 2: Go to the Customer Account Section
At the top of the theme editor, click the page selector dropdown (it usually says “Home page”).
Select Checkout and Customer Accounts from the list.
⚙️ Step 3: Enable the Manage Subscription Button
On the left sidebar, click the App Embeds icon (⚙️).
Find and turn on the toggle for the Manage Subscription Button.
Choose where you’d like it to appear:
👤 Profile page
📦 Orders page
🧾 Order status page
🎯 Step 4: Choose Button Position
Select the alignment that fits your theme layout:
⬅️ Start: Align left
↔️ Centre: Align middle
➡️ End: Align right
✅ Once enabled, your Manage Subscription button will appear on your chosen page within the customer account area.
🕰️ Adding a Manage Subscription Button (Legacy Customer Accounts)
If your store is using legacy customer accounts, the Manage Subscription button should automatically appear on the account page — this works in about 99% of Shopify themes.
