How can a customer add/swap products?

Appstle Subscriptions is one of the few apps out there that currently provides a product add/swap functionality! This is a feature that we started to work on, based on a customer request, and we thoroughly enjoyed the development journey. We sincerely hope that you find this feature valuable to your store, and that it helps you provide an excellent shopping experience to your customers.

Overview

The Product Swap feature in Appstle Subscriptions enables your customers (and you) to modify products in existing subscription orders. These are typically instances where a product may have different color, flavor or size variations, and a customer wants the freedom to switch product variants in their subscriptions at will. An example is the 'razor and blade' scenario, where a customer gets a shaving razor in the first delivery, but wants to receive new replacement blades on a recurring basis.


Functionality live
For your customers to add/swap new products to their subscriptions, they will need to follow the below steps:

Step 1: Log into their account/user profile page on your website.

Step 2: Navigate to 'Manage Subscription'

Step 3: Click on the subscription order that they wish to modify.

Step 4: Search the product or product variation that they wish to add/swap.

If the modification is an addition of a new product to the existing product in the subscription (for example: a customer adding diaper cream to the recurring order of diapers), then the customer does not have to do anything else. The product addition is complete.

If the modification is a product swap within an existing subscription (for example: a customer swapping a size 3 diaper with a size 4 diaper), then the customer will have to delete the product they no longer want, from their recurring order.

Please note: If a customer adds products to an existing subscription, the product price will not automatically reflect the discounts defined in your subscription plan. Merchants will have to manually provide the discount from the Appstle Subscriptions Merchant Portal under the Subscriptions tab in the left side panel.
