What is a shipping profile and when should you create one?

Without a shipping profile, by default any Appstle Subscription orders will be processed using the same Shipping settings that you'd find in your Shipping and Delivery section within your Shopify Settings.

If you want to set separate rates for your subscription products this is where creating a shipping profile comes into play. A shipping profile sets shipping rules for specific products and locations for delivery, meaning different subscription products can have different rates.

Need a video guide? - watch the step by step tutorial below:

Want a written guide? - keep reading for a thorough walkthrough:

To get started, go to More > Shipping Profile - Add/Manage.

Next click on the Create Shipping Profile button and give your shipping profile a name.

After creating your first shipping profile, it's time to add one (or more) subscription plans to the profile. Click Edit Subscription Plans and choose any of your subscription plans that you want to follow the shipping rules created in this shipping profile.

Now it's time to add some rates to your shipping profile. Click on Edit on Shopify, which will redirect you to the Shipping and Delivery section within your Shopify Settings.

Now you're almost done setting up your first shipping profile, from here just click Add rates.

Next you'll click the Create zone button. This is where you will set the region for your shipping profile, and then associate rates within that region. If you want to keep the same shipping rates for all locations, you'd simply add all countries/ regions to one zone. If you want to set different shipping rates for different locations, you'd create multiple zones. Once you've created your zone click Add rate once more.

Now you're in the home stretch! Just set the rate you want for that zone - in this example we're displaying free shipping for all orders within the United States - and click Done.

If you want to add any conditional pricing, for example something like free shipping on orders over $100, you'd simply click Add conditional pricing and set the parameters you desire.
