Overview

Set Specific Order Days is an Appstle Subscriptions functionality with which, you - the merchant, can select specific dates on which your recurring orders will be processed. This pre-determined and orderly fulfillment can bring several benefits to the merchant, including lower costs thanks to the consolidation of the processing and work that goes into shipping and order fulfillment.

Functionality
Appstle offers this functionality to every single subscription plan in your store. If your store currently has 10 subscription plans, you can set specific delivery days for each of the 10 plans, which can either be the same date for all the plans, or different dates for each plan, as per your convenience.

Note: The pre-set dates are specific to each 'subscription plan', and not each 'active subscription'. The two are different. Subscription plan refers to the plans that you - the merchant set, choosing the products that can be ordered on a recurring basis at specific frequencies. Active subscriptions, on the other hand, refers to the number of recurring orders your customers currently have with your store.

To set a specific order day for your subscription plans, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Login to your Merchant portal for Appstle Subscriptions on Shopify
Step 2: Click on 'Subscription Plans' in the navigation.

Step 3: Click on 'Create Subscription Plan'. Refer to this help doc link for detailed guidance on creating a subscription plan.

Step 4: After selecting the Delivery Frequency, click on the toggle for 'Set specific order days?', as shown in the screenshot below, to set a pre-set order date.

Step 5: Select the day or date on which you want all orders in the subscription plan to be fulfilled.

Cutoff days

If customers purchase subscriptions too close to the order date you chose, they can risk getting double charged. Cutoff days can help you avoid this situation by moving purchases made too close to your order date over to the next billing cycle instead.

So let's say your set order date is the 1st of every month and you set your cutoff as 30 days. This means that only orders made on the 1st of that month will apply for that billing cycle. Orders made after that will apply to the next billing cycle instead.

To give a more practical example, let's say under these settings, a customer purchased a subscription product on October 1st. This is in line with the cutoff days set, so their order qualifies to be billed on November 1st.

But if another customer purchased a product on October 30th, their billing will be too close to November 1st, and will have their billing moved to the next billing cycle instead, which is December 1st.

Setting cut off days is completely optional; its sole purpose is to reduce the stress on merchants!
