Providing certain products and features is one of the most common ways that memberships generally work. For this, Appstle Memberships provides a seamless way to use customer tagging in order to assign certain discount codes automatically to tags (customer and order tags) associated with membership plans. In this article, we will look into the process of using this process and creating discount codes through Shopify.
Step 1: Add a customer tag to the Membership plan
First, create a membership plan. If you have not created one yet and need help, you can refer to the article here.
When creating the plan, you will notice the option to add a customer tag. You can choose a customized tag that the system can then use to automatically tag customers with when they purchase the membership.
Step 2: Create a Discount Code on Shopify
The next step is to create a discount code to be applied to the membership plan. To learn more about the creation of discount codes, you can refer to the article by Shopify here.
Step 3: Important Settings
When creating a discount code, there are a few things that need to be considered and taken care of.
The first is to make sure that the discount code is applicable to all of your desired purchases. For this, we will be going with 'Both', as shown in the screenshot below.
The next step is to make sure that this discount code is associated with the customer tag that you have defined. This will appear within the Customer Eligibility section, once we choose the option for Specific Groups.
After adding the customer group information, you need to save the discount code.
After saving the discount code, you need to copy the discount ID that you have to put in the perk membership within the membership plan. You can also write any 'discount message' you want for your members to see.
