With this activity rule, your customers can earn points by creating a new account and then visiting your store for the first time.
To set up, please follow the instructions below:
Go to the Activity Rules section.
Click on Create Rule
In the Name section, name the Activity Rule.
For Customer Facing Label, describe the activity rule with a brief explanation on how points can be earned.
For Customer Facing Icon, provide the URL of an icon or image, or leave it blank to use the rule-based global icon from the widget settings or the default image.
For Base Points, input the amount of points a customer gets once the conditions of this activity rule are met.
Auto Approval Days can be set if you wish to give yourself time to approve customers' loyalty points upon completing activity rules.
If you do not manually approve the points yourself during the interval you set (in days), after it passes, the points will automatically be assigned to the customers' accounts.
Leave 0 into this field if you want the points to be assigned to customer accounts immediately.
Click the checkbox for Enable Activity Interval Per Customer if you want to limit how many times a customer can complete this activity rule per given interval of time (days, weeks, months, years, or lifetime).
The next two sections, Allowances and Restrictions, are optional to complete. You can add customer tags (obtainable from the Customers section of your Shopify Admin), order tags, product tags, etc. to deny certain subsets of your customer base from taking advantage of this activity rule (ex: New Customers, Wholesale Customers, etc.).
For Notification, you can input a message customers will get when they get their points
For Rule Status, set the activity rule as either Active or Paused.
When you are finished, scroll back up and hit the Save button.
View and Test Your Activity Rules

Use Cases
Now let’s talk about use cases. In other words, what kinds of situations would this activity rule prove useful for you, as the merchant?
The main one is exposure. By awarding points upon sign up, you can introduce your customers to your store’s products, new launches, and so on, on the front end. Afterwards, they can purchase, if they choose to do so.
Please note that it is essential for a customer to have an account and be logged into it on your store for them to be able to take advantage of this. Our loyalty application will not be able to track general visitors, as it will not know the account to assign points to.
