Integrating a Shopify Product Report Feature into your Shopify store

Applying tags directly to both customers, products and orders in your Shopify Store can represent a valuable way to track revenue and gain insights into your business. Application of these tags to the Shopify Store enables detailed Reporting and Analytics to be generated based on the store's customers and products. Third party apps can then base analytics reports on these tags for orders and customers

Better Reports is an example of a third party app that uses tags to generate detailed reports for your Shopify Store. Better Reports is currently a third party Shopify plugin for Reporting and Analytics that has positive reviews from Shopify Merchants. Importantly, Better Reports provides metrics to understand your store's revenue across different products and orders, for example on recurring orders. Leveraging this plugin can allow you to gain a better understanding of your products, orders and overall customer behavior by generating reports based directly on your Shopify Store's products.


Feature Tracking offered by Better Reports Plugin

Users have the option with Better Reports to either create a Custom Report or select pre-existing metrics from the categories shown below. The available metric categories for users to select from include Customers, Products, Product variants, Orders, among others. To generate clear reports on your products, ensure the you have the better reports plugin installed in your Shopify Store.


Steps to Generate Reports based on Total Gross Sales for Recurring Orders Tags

1.To create a tag for a product, add Recurring Orders or the tag name of your choosing

Tags can be added when editing a product, customer or an order. Shown below is how to add a tag for an order.

2. To generate a customized report for your Shopify store that includes tags, after selecting the Better Reports Plugin, next select the Create Custom report button.

3. After selecting Create Custom report, select the Add Filter option, which lists out specific product features that can provide insights into your customer's behavior. Here a filter will be added that performs calculations for each order in your Shopify Store.

4. For tracking revenue for Recurring orders, select Order lines then select Product name from the dropdown. This ensures that the metric calculated for your report will be applied to the dimension, product name.

5. Next type in order tags. These tags can be applied directly to your product. You can view the tags associated with a specific order by selecting is tagged with @Tag as well as different categories of orders.

6. This feature can be useful for filtering for recurring order tags for your customers. This can be done by selecting the parameters field and searching for the recurring orders related tags to track recurring orders revenue in comparison to one-time orders.

7. Detailed reports can also be generated based on existing Shopify parameters, including a report providing details on total gross sales for the Shopify Store's products.

8. To export the following a file as a csv, select the following option in the top right corner of the Better Reports page.

9. A report providing details and a breakdown of the revenue based on Recurring Order Tags across different products is shown below. This report can then be exported for analysis and can provide insights into your customers behavior for your Shopify Store.
