Build-a-Box Types
Updated over a week ago

There are two types of boxes that can be configured: Dynamically Pricing Bundles and Fixed Pricing Bundles.

Dynamically Pricing Bundle

As its name suggests, the price that customers pay for this bundle will change based on the individual products inside it. The example box here is for ice cream.

Each product has its own cost associated with it, and the price of the final box will increase as more products are added into it.

The box has been configured to require customers to select at least 2 products to purchase, and up to a maximum of 4 products. There is also a tiered discount in place to incentivize customers to spend more. 3 products selected will result in a 10% discount and 4 products result in a 20% discount.

Fixed Pricing Bundle

This type requires you, the merchant, to create and use a parent product within Shopify. To demonstrate, this bundle will be for apparel.

So in addition to the different items you want to allow customers to choose from to create their bundle, you will also need to create another, more general apparel product in Shopify that will serve as the parent, or poster, product, set with a price of your choosing and added to a subscription plan. The example parent product below is set for $35.

This box has been configured to include a variety of shirts and shorts included in this store's catalog. Customers would need to hit Next Step after selecting this parent product to continue their purchase.

They can make their selection on the following page and then purchase the final bundle.

No matter what kind of shirt and shorts combination is selected on this page, the final price will always be the same as that of the parent product.
