What is a Referral Program?

To understand referral program and settings.

A referral program typically engages two key groups: your existing customers and their close network, such as family or friends who have not yet joined your store.

This strategy offers an effective means to organically expand your business, both in the short and long term, by incentivizing current customers to refer new clients. In return, rewards can be provided to the referrer, the referred, or both parties.

Navigate to the Referrals section in More > Referrals to view the configuration page.

The Referring Customer and Referred Customer Sections let you customize rewards, allowing either or both parties to earn points or receive discounts by clicking Add Reward.

  • Points: Allows you to set the points provided to either referring or referred customers.

  • Auto Approval Days: Allows you to set the days after which the rewards will be credited to the customer account.

  • Customer Facing Label: This allows you to customize the reward message on the Loyalty widget. Please ensure you do not alter the {{points}} token, as it is essential for accurately displaying the point amount in the widget.

You can also offer discounts to both referring customers and referred customers by setting up various Redeem Rules to suit your customers' needs.

In the next section, you can set the conditions under which the points or discounts you’ve configured will be applied to your customers.

  • When a referred friend customer creates an account: The referring customer & referred friend customer will be rewarded after the referred friend customer accepts the referral invitation.

  • When a referred friend customer visits the store: The referring customer & referred friend customer will be rewarded after accepting the referral invitation.

  • When a referred friend customer makes any purchase: This option allows you to choose whether both the referring customer and the referred customer receive a discount, or if only one of them does, when the referred customer completes a purchase.

  • When a referred friend customer makes any purchase of a Subscription product: This option allows you to choose whether both the referring customer and the referred customer receive a discount, or if only one of them does, when the referred customer completes a purchase of a subscription product.

  • When a referred friend customer makes any purchase from a collection: This option allows you to choose whether both the referring customer and the referred customer receive a discount, or if only one of them does, when the referred customer completes a purchase from a collection.

Navigate to the Referrals section in More > Referrals > Others to view the configuration page.

Allow and Restrict Customers by Tags: This section enables you to set restrictions on customers based on specific tags, determining whether they are eligible to participate in the referral program.

Notification: Allows you to modify the message for referrals.
