When setting up subscriptions for your Shopify store using the Appstle Subscriptions app, you might come across a common use case: How to offer customized product frequencies where customers receive different quantities of a product based on the subscription interval they choose. For instance:-
1 product per month for a monthly subscription.
2 products every two months for a bi-monthly subscription.
3 products every three months for a quarterly subscription.
If you're wondering how to configure this setup using Appstle Subscriptions, you can follow these steps to implement a simple and effective solution.
Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up Custom Product Frequencies
Go to Appstle Subscription: Start by logging into your Shopify admin panel and navigate to the Appstle Subscriptions app. This app is designed to streamline your subscription management process and offers flexibility in creating different customer subscription plans.
Go to the Subscription Plan Section: Once inside Appstle Subscriptions, locate the Subscription Plan section. This is where you can create or edit subscription plans for the products in your store. If you already have subscription plans created, you can modify them here. Otherwise, you’ll need to create a new subscription plan.
Create a New Subscription Plan (if not already created): If no subscription plans have been created for the product you want to offer, click on the Create Subscription Plan button. This will open up a menu where you can specify the details of the plan, including frequency options, product variants, and pricing.
Browse Products > Select product > Add.
Add More Frequency Options: Once you've created a subscription plan, you'll need to customize it further by adding different frequency options. This is where you can offer multiple subscription intervals with corresponding product quantities. To do this:
Click "Add More Frequency Plan": This option allows you to add multiple subscription intervals, such as one month, two months, and three months.
Set the first frequency to 1 month and configure the plan to send 1 product for this option.
Add a second frequency for 2 months and configure it to send 2 products.
Finally, add a third frequency for 3 months, and set it to send 3 products.
Workaround for Managing Product Quantities: Since Appstle doesn’t directly support automatic quantity adjustment for different frequencies, a common workaround is to create product variants for each frequency:
Product A: For the 1-month frequency, create a variant that sends 1 product.
Product B: For the 2-month frequency, create a variant that sends 2 products.
Product C: For the 3-month frequency, create a variant that sends 3 products.
You will need to manually track inventory for these variants to ensure accurate stock management.
Save and Test the Subscription Plan: Save your subscription plan after setting up the frequencies and configuring the product quantities for each interval. Be sure to test the plan by going through the checkout process as a customer would, ensuring the correct product quantities are being applied based on the chosen subscription frequency. Go to Shopify Admin > Online Store > View Live Store to check the subscriptions.
