Learn how Arch refers to things in the portal

  • Account - A profile within Arch that contains investing entities, which in turn contain investments. This is the level where users are added and permissions are set.

  • Investing Entity - The entity through which the investment is made. Examples could be an individual or a trust.

  • Firm - The company that controls the investment and provides updates to Arch (ex. Blackstone)

  • Issuing Entity - The fund or entity that issues updates and documents (ex. Blackstone Fund II)

  • Offering - Another layer beneath the Issuing Entity (ex. Blackstone Fund II - Series B). Investors could be invested in the same issuing entity but be invested in different offerings like share classes, different fundraising rounds, etc

  • Holding - The combination of an investing entity and an offering

  • Arch email - The email address to be used by the firm to send Arch email notifications and set up portal access

  • Activity - An update that Arch has processed for a specific holding or firm. This could include account statements, cash flow notices, meeting materials, and any other communications received by Arch from the firm.
