Elements in Arcol can be moved by clicking and dragging on them, but sometimes you need to move elements more accurately. The move tool allows you to move elements from one particular point to another.

Freeform moving

To move an element with the move tool:

  1. Click the Move button in the toolbar. Alternatively you can use shortcut M

  2. If you do not currently have an element selected, select the element you wish to move. If you already have 1 or more elements selected continue to step 3.

  3. Click to place the reference point that you would like to perform the move from. This can be anywhere on the selected element(s), other elements, or somewhere on the active level.

  4. Click to place the point that you would like to perform the move to. Again, this can be anywhere on the selected element(s), other elements, or somewhere on the active level.

Moving a specified distance

While performing a move you will see a reference line appear between the reference point and the point being move to. The input that shows on the reference line allows you to specify the exact distance you would like to move the element.

Enter the distance you would like to move and then press Enter or click to commit the value.

Copying while moving

While in the move tool, hold Option/Alt while placing the initial move point to copy the selection being moved.
