Importing an image

Arcol currently supports the following image formats for import:

  • PNG

  • JPG

  • JPEG

Import

To import an image:

  1. Drag and drop an image into your project or go to main menu β†’ File β†’ Import β†’ Image.

  2. If you imported via the main menu you will see a file browser appear. Select the image you wish to import and click the Open button on the menu.

  3. Click anywhere in your project to place the corner of the image - the first point will always be the bottom left corner of the image.

  4. Move your mouse to preview the placement of upper right corner of the image. You can do initial scaling and rotation during this placement. If desired, you can enter an exact dimension for the distance between the two corners of the image.

Scaling an image after import

To scale an image after you’ve imported it:

  1. Double click the image you wish to scale or select the image and click the edit button that appears in the middle of the toolbar.

  2. Drag either of the two reference points to scale or rotate the image. For more accurate scaling, go to step 3.

  3. Select one of the reference points - a dimension input will appear on the line between the two reference points. The selected reference point will remain unmoved when scaling.

  4. Click on the dimension input and enter a value to scale the image.

Editing reference points

If you know the exact dimension of some part of your image can edit its reference points for more accurate scaling:

  1. Select the image you wish to edit the reference points for.

  2. Click the Edit reference points button in the right sidebar.

  3. Click the place the first reference point.

  4. Click the place the second reference point.

  5. Select a reference point and enter a dimension to scale the image.
