Exporting an Arcol project and using it in Revit requires downloading the Revit add-in. Arcol geometry is imported to Revit as native Revit geometry:

  • Site context β†’ Imported as DirectShape

  • Non-building elements β†’ Imported as DirectShape

  • Building elements β†’ Imported as levels, generic floors, and generic walls

Alternatively, all the above elements can be imported as masses instead.

Note: Arcol currently only supports exporting building geometry - terrain is not exported.

Once the add-in is downloaded, you will find it as a tab in Revit. Open the tab and click the "Import an Arcol Project" button to launch the add-in.

When the add-in launches you will need to sign in to your Arcol account. After signing in, select the project you want to import from the project browser.

Selecting a project will take you to an import setting screen. Select which format you want to import the geometry as and select which design option should be imported. Then click the "Import" button to being importing the project.

It may take a couple minutes to import depending on the size of your project.

When the import is complete it may not look like anything has happened in Revit depending on the current view. Click the 3D view button to verify that the project was imported successfully.
