Creating section views

Written by Mike Buss

Section views are useful for creating an elevation view showing the inside of a building. They function the same as other Arcol views.

To create a section view in Arcol, click the section button in the canvas menu.

Clicking the button will prompt you to hover on a building and click to place the section plane. Note that sections are always parented by a building - the view that is created will be placed in the building view folder, and if the building is moved the section will move with it.

Clicking to place the section will open a top view in which you can adjust the position, scope, and rotation of the section plane.

Editing section plane

To edit a section plane after it has been created, click the "Edit section plane" button in the View tab of a section view.

Flipping a section plane

While editing a section plane you can flip its direction by clicking the flip button in the toolbar or pressing hotkey "f".

Editing labels in section views

To edit the visibility or size of labels and level lines in section views, use the toggles and size input in the View tab of a section view.
