Configuring Schedules and Holidays for Access Control

Updated over a week ago

This feature is available only to existing Access Control customers.

At Arcules, we understand how vital it is to have flexible and straightforward access control in your workspace. That's why we've made setting up Schedules and Holidays in our Access Control system both easy and intuitive. Here's how you can tailor access to fit your specific needs:

Scheduling Access Your Way

Our Schedules feature lets you customize how and when different doors in your space are accessible. Here's what you can do:

  • Set specific times for doors to recognize various access modes.

  • Arrange for certain doors to be unlocked during designated times, allowing public access.

  • Combine schedules with Access Levels to specify when individuals can access certain doors.

  • Use Holidays to override regular schedules, ensuring your access control fits around your unique calendar.

Creating a Schedule

  1. Head over to the Schedules section in Access Control. You'll find a handy 24/7 Default schedule already set up. This can't be changed but is perfect for 'always-on' settings and default access modes.

  2. To add a new schedule, click the + icon.

  3. Name your schedule and give it a description. For instance, "Office Hours for regular staff at HQ (8am-8pm access)" tells you exactly what it's for at a glance.

  4. Set up your times and days. You can also click "Add More" to add additional time/day series. For example 9-5 Monday-Friday can be in one time slot and 9-12 on weekends can be in another time slot. Our system is flexible – mix and match time slots to suit your needs. Remember to click 'Save' when you're done!

Creating a Holiday

Holidays are days that a Schedule should be ignored. In some cases such as Access Modes for doors, the default 24/7 Schedule will be applied during Holidays.

  1. Go to the Holidays section in Access Control.

  2. Click the + icon to create a new Holiday.

  3. Name and describe your Holiday – like "All Company 2019 Holidays" or "Thanksgiving period" – so everyone knows what it's for.

  4. Pick the start and end dates and times. You can cover a whole day or just part of it, like from 9AM on 5/5/2019 to 5PM on 5/6/2019.

And here's a tip: Create a single Holiday called "All Company Holidays" and include all your annual holiday dates in it. It's a great way to keep things organized and straightforward.

By tailoring Schedules and Holidays to your organization's rhythm, you ensure that your access control system works seamlessly with your daily operations. If you need any assistance or have questions, our team at Arcules is always here to help!
