Statement Date

The first step is to set a statement date. This is normally the last day of the month you are closing off, and owner statements will be created as at this date. The End of Period date in Ardex settings will also be updated to this date which will prevent transactions being entered to the period being reported.

After completing month end you may re-open the month for data entry if you wish through Settings then Options and select End of Period. However we advise against this in most circumstances, as transactions for the month will have already been reported to horse owners, and possibly also to the Australian Tax Office if a Business Activity Statement has been lodged.

A better option is normally to enter any new transactions to the new month, and leave closed months unchanged to ensure integrity of reports produced. This comes back to the issue of ensuring that all month end checks are complete before beginning the month end wizard, so nothing is missed.
