Primarily we would suggest to do any horse movement via a procedure as it generates communications for the owner of the horse.

When charging agistment sometimes you will need to make multiple adjustments to the location history, this is a quick way to do it. In this situation you wouldn’t want to create multiple owner communications at once so it is best to use this screen.

It can impact procedures if you use Arrival and Departure procedures. For example, if you use the location tab to move a horse to a property that “is not ours” then you will not be able to depart the horse, alternatively if you move the horse to a property that “is ours” you will not be able to arrive the horse.

Long story short, primarily use the location tab to change location history of horses but it can be used to move horses and correct mistakes.
