Voice Notes have traditionally been a very popular racing communications strategy for Ardex Mobile users. You can use Ardex Mobile to simply and quickly record a short sound clip to be sent to all owners and interested parties for a horse. The recording can be reviewed (and redone if necessary), then an email with the voice note attached can be sent immediately to owners, using your pre-set email communications template.
Tip: To send voice notes and other communications via Ardex Mobile requires a reliable data connection. Just because you have phone reception doesn’t mean you have an active data connection. If you open your web browser and can’t access any website, your data connection is down and you won’t be able to send communications via Ardex Mobile. Check to see if you have exceeded your mobile data plan limit, and see if you can find a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Record a Voice Note
Open your horse list and find the horse that you want to comment on.
Press the blue “i” next to the horse name and select Progress Voice Note.
Press Record on the next screen to start the recording and press Stop to finish the recording.
If you get a message asking permission for Ardex Mobile to access your Microphone choose Yes.
Ready to Upload
Once a voice note is recorded and ready to upload you can review it by pressing Play and you may then Discard and re-record the voice note if you wish. If you are recording comments on a number of horses, the Prev and Next buttons at the bottom of the screen will move from one horse to the next. The Horses button at the top left will return to your horses list.
Uploading Voice Notes
Once you have finished recording voice notes, go to the Ardex Mobile home screen and towards the bottom select Upload Voice Notes. In the pending uploads screen you may review voice notes recorded once again if you wish, and delete notes if any mistakes are detected by swiping right to left.
Publishing Voice Notes
Press Publish at the bottom left of screen to publish the voice notes, send them to horse owners by e-mail and save them to your Ardex database. A green tick will appear next to each note once it has been successfully uploaded, or if any notes fail to upload you will be notified.
Note: If you are a race horse trainer, you will definitely want Racing Data activated for your Ardex Database and Ardex Mobile account. Being able to access up-to-date racing information for horses in your care wherever you are, and send this information to horse owners with comments puts you a mile ahead of a trainer without access to these features.
