Before you can go live with your ARI/Slate integration, you must delete any pre-existing Sport External IDs so they do not create a conflict with your new integration. To accomplish this, you will use a Retention Policy in Slate. Follow the steps below to delete Sport External IDs. If you would prefer, you can try this in a test environment of Slate first to confirm it works as expected.

► In your Slate instance, click on the Gear Icon, select Database and then click on Retention Policies.

► In the Retention Policy Editor, click on the New Group button.

► Name your Retention Policy Remove Sport External IDs, set the Status to Active and click on Save.

► Click on New Policy and then set the fields as follows:

  • Name: Remove Sport External IDs

  • Object Type: Sport

  • Base: Sport

  • Order: 1

  • Fail Threshold: The maximum number of records you want affected by this policy. In this example we entered 20,000.

► Click on the Subquery Filter button, name the Subquery Filter Sport External ID Exists and click on the Export button.

► In the Search box, type in sport external, click on Sport Reference ID (External) and click Continue.

► Click on Save

► Set the Policy Type to Clear specific values, but retain row, click on the External ID checkbox and click Save.

► Click on the Run Options button.

► Click on the checkbox for Enable Record-Specific Run for Users with Update Permissions and click Save.

► Click on the Execute button that should now appear next to Edit.

► Make a note in the Memo line and click Execute
