Setting up data fields within ARI Recruiting is an integral piece to your ARI success. When you first enter the ARI Recruiting platform, you will be presented with preexisting standard data fields within athlete profiles, however, we want to make it easy for you to not only hide any standard fields that you would like but to create custom data fields that will help fit all of your needs.
Data fields play an important role beyond athlete profiles. By setting up your data fields, you'll be able to take full advantage of ARI Recruiting through mass imports, recruit questionnaires, filters and auto groups.
STEP 1 - Accessing 'Custom Fields'
ARI Recruiting offers two entry points to the Custom Fields settings page.
Option 1 is through your settings page.
To access custom fields through the settings page, click on the settings gear in the menu bar on the left side of the ARI Recruiting platform and then select 'Custom Fields'.
Option 2 is through an athlete profile.
To access custom fields through an athlete profile, you must first go into an athlete profile. Once inside a profile, you will select the edit fields button in the top right of the ARI Recruiting platform and select 'Bio' if you wish to edit the bio fields or 'Sport Stats' if you wish to edit the stats page data fields.
STEP 2 - Making Changes to Preexisting Data Groups
From the new menu on the right side of the ARI Recruiting platform, you'll be able to check (show) and uncheck (hide) preexisting data fields. Unchecked data fields will not appear in the athlete profile, nor will they be usable in the recruit grid or on your recruit questionnaire. Checking or unchecking the box to the left of a data group name will either show or hide the data group as a whole.
From this menu, you can edit data groups or create your own data groups or checklists.
To edit a data group, select the pencil icon to the right of the data group's name.
As your menu changes, you'll now see the preexisting fields in your data group. Scrolling to the bottom of the menu will allow you to add new data fields.
STEP 3 - Creating a Custom Data Group
You are able to create custom data groups by scrolling to the bottom of the 'edit fields' menu and selecting 'Add New Group.' You are also able to add custom checklists by selecting, 'Add New Checklist'.
Adding a new group allows you to create a custom grouping of data fields that fit your needs.
Adding a new checklist allows you to create custom checklists. An example of a useful checklist is tracking if a committed recruit has completed required items (application, transcript, FAFSA, etc.).
