Due to changes in federal and cellular carrier policy intended to cut down on the amount of fraudulent calls and text messages in the United States, Institutions will be required to complete some additional steps in order to send SMS text messages from the ARI platform. These new regulations affect both mass texting using autogroups and individual texts sent through the ARI messenger system.
One major requirement of these new policies is the process of sender verification. Application to Person (A2P) senders, which includes all ARI texting, are required to register their business information with the major US carriers to prove their messages are legitimate, and provide a means to contact the sender should they fail to comply with federal or carrier policy. In order to enforce these new policies, our SMS (texting) vendor, Twilio, has introduced some new costs for texting.
Departmental Set Up Costs
A one-time setup fee of $50 is charged to process your verification application. Once verified, a carrier campaign fee of $10 will be charged monthly. The $10/month fee covers messaging verification for all teams in your department. Per message rates still apply.
Usage/Per Message Costs
We utilize a texting provider, Twilio, who charges us to send and receive every text sent through the system. Our goal is to be as cost-neutral and transparent as possible in how your team is charged for texting. You can review your charges at any time in Team Settings > Usage Logs.
When sending a text message, the total cost is calculated and displayed.

Per Number Costs
A one-time fee of $1.50 is charged to purchase each phone number. You will also be charged a $1.50/month maintenance fee for each number.
International Texting
In an effort to crack down on spam text messaging, Cellular Carriers are changing their regulations regarding international texting daily. Regulations also vary widely from country to country. Our development team has paused international texting until better guidance is made available by our SMS provider regarding these new requirements.
