How to Add a Link to Your Array Form

Adding a link to your form is a great way to guide users to important external resources before or after they complete the form.

Updated over 3 months ago

Whether it’s a help document, a privacy policy, another form, or a download link, Array makes it simple to include clickable URLs directly in your forms.

In This Article, You'll Learn How To:

  • Add an external link to your form

  • Edit an existing link

  • Create download links using external services

  • Include links in follow-up emails

Why Add a Link to Your Form?

Links can serve a variety of purposes, such as:

  • Redirecting users to your company website

  • Linking to Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policies, or FAQs

  • Directing users to downloadable documents

  • Connecting users to another form within Array

  • Offering additional context or help before submission

Adding an External Link to Your Form

  1. Open your form in the Form Builder

  2. On the right-hand side, open the Toolbox

  3. Navigate to the Styling Elements tab

  4. Drag the External Link element onto your form where you want the link to appear

Now you’ll see a placeholder for your link.

Customize the Link Text and Destination

Once the link is added:

  • Click the link element to select it

  • On the right-hand settings panel, enter:

    • Field Name – for internal reference

    • Link Text – this is the text users will click on

    • URL – the destination you want users to be taken to

Tip: Make sure the URL includes the full path (e.g., https://yourwebsite.com).

When you're finished, publish your form to save the changes.

Editing an Existing Link

To update or change a link that’s already been added:

  1. Click on the existing External Link element in your form

  2. Use the settings panel on the right to:

    • Update the Link Text

    • Change the Destination URL

All changes are saved when you publish your form again.

Adding a Download Link

While Array doesn't support direct file uploads for downloads, you can still provide downloadable content using external file hosting platforms.

Option 1: Direct Download URL

If you have a public download link (e.g., from your website or a document host), simply:

  • Add an External Link to your form

  • Paste the download URL in the Destination URL field

When clicked, users will be taken directly to the document — or the download may start automatically.

Option 2: Use Cloud Storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)

You can upload your files to a cloud platform like:

  • Google Drive

  • Dropbox

  • OneDrive

Then:

  1. Set the file or folder to public or shareable

  2. Copy the public link

  3. Paste it into an External Link element on your form

This is a reliable way to provide users with access to:

  • Event maps

  • Product brochures

  • Instructional guides

  • Policy documents

Adding Links in Email Copy

Array also allows you to include links in email notifications or follow-up messages sent after a form submission.

Use this to:

  • Guide users to another step in a workflow

  • Share documents or further instructions

  • Link to another form in your campaign
