When you set your Art Storefronts website up, you should have followed the directions for setting up your home page as a gallery of subject matter categories. If you didn’t use this feature or are looking to set up a more advanced method, you can use this article to find the information you need.

We will be breaking this article into two separate parts. We will have the Beginners (Recommended) Guide, which shows you the easiest, fastest way to get your home page set up. Then, we’ll also have the Advanced Guide. The Advanced Guide should only be used by Art Storefronts members who are confident in their abilities to set up their site. The Advanced Guide is much more in-depth, and there is more room for error. Please keep that in mind as you progress.

Beginners (Recommended) Guide

This page allows you to easily display products that have been created within your Art Print Store and Standard Store pages. Once this page is created, you will handpick the products you want to show up.

We recommend creating one of these pages for each subject matter category that you have. For example, if you have images of "horses" and "beaches," you will want to create a dedicated Product Gallery page for each.

Subject matter categories give your visitors an easy to navigate site experience, which will hopefully get them to buy. To help with that, we have made it super easy to set this up.

Setting up your home page as a gallery of subject matter categories is one of the most important ‘best practices’ that Art Storefronts recommends to its customers. It provides simple site navigation to your visitors.

Example: You have pictures of tigers and other animals. On your home page, you'd want to create a category labeled Animals. This clearly describes the content of your gallery and explains to your customer what they are likely to find inside.

Keep the home page simple and easy to navigate to make sure you're winning.

Advanced Guide

This page is commonly used as the homepage of your live site -- but for advanced users only. The keywords entered in the "Keywords" field will create "clickable categories" on your live site. A "clickable category" contains a cover image and a label such as "Beaches", and is just something your visitors can click on to take them to a different Product Gallery page that contains those images.

This page is used to display products on your live site, based on the "Search Keywords" you enter when editing a specific product. A given product will only show up on this page if the keyword added to the "Keywords" field exactly matches the "Search keyword" entered in when editing that specific product.
