The On-Site Content Builder is a new way to create unique pages in real-time. Instead of going back and forth between the WYSIWYG editor and your live site to view changes, you’ll now be able to edit all the content on a page dynamically. This tool is only available on standard and blog pages (for now), and has a number of pre-loaded templates that you can use and edit to create one-of-a-kind About Me, Contact, FAQ pages, and blog posts! In this article, we’ll go over the basic functionality of activating and creating pages with this exciting new tool.
Warning: Only have one page or tab open with the content builder if you are making any changes. If you have multiple instances open you may lose some of your work if different pages have their contents saved.
Please Note:
If you would like to test the links you place in your page, use incognito/private browsing mode, or view the page using your custom domain.
This process will need you to have an existing page with an On-Site Content Builder already activated. To learn more about this, please check out our On-Site Content Builder article.
Please navigate to your Site Manager and open a Standard Page. For the purposes of this tutorial, we are going to use the About the Artist page.
Once you have the page open, please click on the Content tab and click on “Click Here to preview your site and use the On-Site Content Builder”.
This will launch the same page but on your Live Site. This enables you to use the On-Site Content builder features.
For the purposes of this tutorial, we are going to use two types of links:
Relative Link - a relative link is relative to the current page and within your site. For example, since we have an existing FAQ Page on this test site and it’s Smart URL is “faq” then our relative link will be “/faq”. Other common pages and their relative links include:

Absolute Links - an absolute link has the full address to a website or a page. For example, if you’d like to link the Art Storefronts site on your page then you would have the address as http://www.artstorefronts.com.
With that out of the way, we already have some text in our sample page to add links to
To add your link, please highlight the text you’d like to link and click on the “hyperlink” icon towards the top of your screen.
A new pop-up will show with a few settings to add the link to your text. The fields include:
Url - This will be the link to your page. This is a mandatory field for the link to work.
Open In New Window - This will tell the browser whether to open the link in a new window or on the current window
Title - This is the tooltip description that shows up when one hovers over the link
Since we can use the FAQ Page link as a relative link, we are going to use “/faq” as the link and leave the rest of the fields as empty. Then click on OKAY.
For the absolute link, you will need to enter the full link to the site or page as shown below:
After adding your links, please do not forget to save your page content.
