Prepare your files
Download your auction items file from your auction management software.
Images
There are two ways to upload images: by including the image URLs in the Items file, or by uploading JPGs.
You can use the same images that you use on the rest of your platforms or on your website. If you're choosing to upload JPGs, the image name should be the lot number (you can upload several versions for each lot as 121_1, 121_2 or 121.1, 121.2, etc.) If you are unable to provide images and/or item links, we will extract them from your website.
Upload your file to Artbrain
To create a new auction, go to Auctions in the sidebar and click the blue Create New + button.
1 - Files:
Click the Plus icon and select the 'Auction Items' upload type from the dropdown:
Select the item file you want to upload and follow the prompts in the pop-up window.
If a red error appears, you can click into the affected rows or cells to fix the issue manually.
A column-matching error means one or more headers in your file have changed. In this case, match the new header to the expected field.
Continue correcting any cells marked in red by following the on-screen prompts.
If you’re unable to resolve an issue, contact your Customer Manager or reach out to our support team via chat or email. Once all errors are resolved, click Next to continue.
Save the file, and press Next.
In this section, you can see how many rows were detected, how many are valid, and how many are invalid.
Once you’re ready, click the Submit button to complete the upload.
2 - Details:
Enter auction details, including the ending date of the auction, catalog links, and optional description. The auction departments will be automatically populated with the departments from the items in your file.
For multi-day auctions, you may add multiple catalog links, by pasting them one at a time and pressing enter.
Review the summary and press Create Auction.
Upload
Once you finish creating the auction, the system will get to work processing, uploading, and analyzing your items and customers. We will fetch images and links if needed, extract tags from your items, and generate match scores for your items and customers.
You can keep track of the status of the upload on the Auctions page. Depending on the size of the auction, it could take up to a few hours to generate all your matches. If you're waiting for longer than this, please reach out to our support chat.
Imported the wrong file?
