Update your Customers

Following each sale, It's important to update your customers on Artbrain so that we can provide them with up-to-date recommendations.

Prepare the Customers File 

Download your customers file from your bidding platform, CRM, or secondary emailing platform.


Please note:

  • If a customer is already in the system, it will be updated according to the new information provided.

  • Customers can be updated either using their email address or their unique Customer ID.

  • It's important to upload customers regularly to ensure that we have their most current contact information.

Uploading the Customers File

To upload a Customers file simply navigate to the 'Customers' tab and click on the Upload arrow icon (shown below):

Select the file you wish to upload, and follow the prompts on the screen, including correcting any errors in red that appear in your data. Data can be edited on-screen by double clicking a cell and making your necessary changes.

After uploading, you will get an email telling you how many customers were uploaded successfully.

Please note:

  • Customers without an email address will not receive targeted campaigns from Artbrain.

  • Customers without either a first or last name will receive targeted campaign emails, but the receiver's name will appear as "Customer", or another default word of your choice.

Subscription Status:

You will need to decide which of your customers are 'subscribed' or 'unsubscribed' users. 

  • An unsubscribed customer will not receive targeted emails from Artbrain.

  • When you start working with Artbrain, you should decide on your preferred default subscription status - it can either be subscribed or unsubscribed.

  • You can always update the unsubscribers list on Artbrain by uploading a CSV file with new unsubscribers listing their subscription status as "Unsubscribed".

Updating an Individual Customer

It is also possible to edit your customer' details directly via their Artbrain profiles. Enter the profile you wish to edit and click on the Edit Customer button located on the left side panel below your customer's contact information.

Here you can edit the customer's Email Address, Customer ID, Name and Phone number.

You can also change their Subscription Status and VIP Status as well as add or reject a Department to their profile.

API

If you prefer, you can create new customers and update existing customers automatically using our API. However, it requires technical knowledge. You can read more here.
