What is the preferences questionnaire used for?

This questionnaire is used to gain deeper insights into your customers’ collecting preferences. The responses are uploaded to your Artbrain account, allowing the system to generate increasingly relevant recommendations for your customers. Additionally, this provides an important opportunity to scrub your list (see more on this below).

How many responses can we expect?

Generally, you can expect 1-3% of your audience to complete this questionnaire. Since this campaign is sent to your entire audience, this can translate into several hundred responses. While this is a significantly lower response rate than you’re seeing with your marketing campaigns, the opportunity to fine-tune recommendations for even just 1% of your customers can result in significantly more engagement (and revenue) in your subsequent auctions.

Should I worry about customers unsubscribing?

As a result of this being sent to your entire audience, you may see more unsubscribes than usual after sending this campaign. The vast majority of these will be customers who already aren’t interacting with your emails, and possibly marking them as spam (increasing the risk that your emails will end up in other customers’ spam folders!) That said, we will notify you in the event that any relevant, active customers have unsubscribed so you can follow up with them personally.

What about bounces?

You’ll also see more bounces than usual. This is a good thing! Bounces can affect your delivery rates for all your customers, so removing email addresses that have bounced (whether due to an old email, incorrect email, or full inbox) increases your delivery rate for subsequent campaigns, and decreases the chances you’ll end up in someone’s spam folder.
