ARTERNAL provides a Parent Record feature for managing editioned artworks. Here’s a guide to creating and editing parent records.

Step 1: Create a Parent Record

  • Upload the artwork, then go to the Editions tab and click on + New Edition.

Step 2: Add Editions

  • In the pop-up window, add the editions as needed.

  • By clicking Add edition variants, you can include special variants such as Artist Proof, Exhibition Prints, and Printer's Proof.

Tip: If you only have select editions, you can adjust the editions so you don’t have to create records for the entire edition.

Step 3: View the Parent Record Page

  • After creating the editions, you’ll be directed to the Parent Record page. Any edits made on this page will apply to all editions.

Step 4: Edit Specific Editions

  • To enter information specific to a certain edition, go to the Editions tab and click on the edition you want to edit.

  • Any changes made on the edition’s page will apply only to that edition.

Important Note:

Edits made to a Parent Record will not override edits made to individual editions. For example, if you change the price of AP1 and later update the price in the Parent Record, the price of AP1 will remain unchanged.
