After marking a work as sold, ARTERNAL can automatically create an association to help you track the buyers of the artwork. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Mark the Inventory as Sold
There are two ways to mark a work as SOLD:
From the Inventory section: Change the availability status to SOLD, and you will be prompted to enter the buyer's name in a pop-up window.
From the Invoice: If the work is not marked as sold when creating an invoice, you will see a button labeled Mark X work(s) above as SOLD. Clicking this will automatically associate the buyer as the contact in the invoice..
Step 2: View the Owner in the Associations Section
After marking the work as sold, the buyer will appear in the Associations section of the artwork’s inventory profile as the Owner.
Step 3: Track Multiple Owners
If the artwork is sold again to a new buyer, repeat step 1. The Associations section will then display both the Previous Owner and the current Owner.
Step 4: View Purchased Works in the Contact's Profile
To view all the works a contact has purchased, go to the Contact’s Profile and navigate to the Inventory tab, where all purchased works will be listed.
