ArtHelper notifies you when something on the platform involves you — when another artist likes your painting, replies to your post, follows you, sends a connection request, or posts to a community you're part of. Notifications show up in two main places: the bell at the top of every page, and your email. This article covers what kinds of notifications you'll see, where to find them, and what each one means.## Where to find your notifications1. Look for the **bell icon** in the top navigation bar. A red dot appears when you have unread notifications, and the bell now shows a clearer count of unread items.2. Click the bell to open your [Notifications](https://app.arthelper.ai/notifications) page.3. Notifications are grouped by time — Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, and Last 30 Days.4. Scroll down to load older notifications — the page loads more automatically as you reach the bottom.5. Notifications older than 30 days drop off the page but the original action (the like, the comment, the follow) stays on your profile and in your feed.## The kinds of notifications you'll seeEach one tells you about a specific kind of activity on your account.- **Likes** — when another artist (or, occasionally, an automated welcome) reacts to your artwork or to a post you wrote.- **Comments and replies** — when someone replies to a community post you wrote, or to a comment you left.- **Follows** — when another artist starts following you.- **Connection requests** — when another artist sends you a connection request, and when one of your own requests is accepted.- **Direct messages** — when one of your connections sends you a message.- **Mentions** — when someone tags you with *@yourname* in a community post or comment.- **Trending alerts** — when one of your posts is trending in the community feed.- **New posts from people you follow** — when an artist you follow publishes new work or a new community post.- **The "while you were away" digest** — a weekly summary of the most interesting posts from communities you're in, in case you've been away.- **Daily activity email** — a once-a-day round-up of everything from the day before, so you don't have to log in to see what happened.## Acting on a notificationEvery notification row is now actionable — clicking takes you directly to the relevant content. Each notification type behaves differently:1. **Post notifications** — Click **View post** (or anywhere on the notification row) to jump straight to that community post.2. **Like notifications** — Click the notification to see the artwork that was liked.3. **Comment and reply notifications** — Click to jump to the exact comment or reply thread.4. **Follow and connection notifications** — Click to visit the artist's profile.5. **Artwork-specific notifications** — For notifications about your own artwork (for example, "someone liked this piece"), click **Take Action** to open a menu with options like **Explore With AI**, **Room Mockups**, **Edit Details**, or **View**.6. **Connection requests** — You'll see **Accept** and **Decline** buttons right on the notification.### Troubleshooting: if "View post" blanks the inboxIf clicking **View post** on a notification causes your inbox to go blank instead of taking you to the post:1. Refresh the page — this will restore your notifications list.2. Click the notification again. The link will now work correctly. This issue was fixed in version 4.6.14, but if you're experiencing it, a quick refresh resolves it.## Turning notifications down or offYou can control which kinds of notifications you get by email — for example, you can keep connection requests in your inbox but mute the daily activity email.1. Go to [arthelper.com/settings](https://www.arthelper.com/settings).2. Open the **Notifications** tab.3. Toggle each switch off to stop receiving that type by email. In-app notifications (the bell) still show everything. The full list of which emails you can turn off is covered in the [Adjusting your email and in-app notifications](/notifications-and-settings/notification-settings/) article.## Common questions### Why did I get a "someone liked your art" notification on day one? When you upload your first piece of work, ArtHelper sends a friendly automatic welcome reaction so the page doesn't feel empty. It's a real notification, just one we kick off for you.### Can I get notifications as text messages?Daily Sparklinks come as text messages if you've shared your phone number. Other notifications — likes, follows, connection requests, mentions — go to your email and your bell, not SMS.### I'm not getting any emails. What should I check?Check that the toggles in [Settings → Notifications](https://www.arthelper.com/settings) are on, and check your spam folder. If you've ever clicked "unsubscribe" in an ArtHelper email, that overrides the in-app settings — contact support and we can fix it.### How do I mark everything as read?Just open the [Notifications](https://app.arthelper.ai/notifications) page. Visiting the page automatically marks all your notifications as read.
