Getting started with Social AutoPoster

What Social AutoPoster is, how to sign in, what each part of the app does, and the order that works.

Written by Shelby

Social AutoPoster writes, schedules and publishes social media posts about your art — to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky — in a voice you choose. You can write each post yourself, or set up a rhythm and let it post for you.

It is its own app, with its own address: autoposter.arthelper.com. Sign in with the same email and password you use for ArtHelper — there is no second account to create.

Open it and sign in

  1. Sign in with your usual ArtHelper email and password.

  2. Your artwork is already there. We bring your pictures across from ArtHelper the first time you sign in, so you are not starting from an empty screen.

The three questions we ask first

The first time you sign in, we ask three short questions, all on one screen:

  • What do you make? A sentence is plenty — "oil landscapes of the Oregon coast" tells us more than a paragraph.

  • How do you want to sound? Warm, plain, funny, serious — this shapes every caption we write for you.

  • Which time zone are you in? This decides what time your posts actually go out, so it is worth getting right.

Then press Make your first post. If you would rather answer these later, close the questions and they will come back next time you sign in.

What each part of the app is for

Everything lives in the menu down the left side.

  • Calendar — what is going out, and when. This is the page most artists keep open.

  • Drafts — posts you have started but not given a time to yet.

  • My Art — every picture we are allowed to post, pulled from your ArtHelper library. You can add more here.

  • Channels — where you connect Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky.

  • Voices — how your captions sound. Add words you like and words you never want used.

  • Automations — set a rhythm once and let posts go out on their own.

  • Analytics — how your posts did, in plain language.

  • Public page — a simple page about you and your work that you can share.

  • Settings — your plan and your time zone.

The order that works

  1. Connect one account on Channels. Nothing can be posted until at least one is connected, so do this first.

  2. Check your pictures on My Art and add anything missing.

  3. Make one post yourself so you can see the whole thing happen once, start to finish.

  4. Then set up an automation once you trust how the captions read.

Watch it instead

There are nine short walkthrough videos on Tutorials, starting with a two-minute overview of the whole app. Each one covers a single page, so you can watch just the part you are stuck on.

Common questions

Is this the same as the posting tools inside ArtHelper?

No — it is a separate, newer app, and it does more. The Instagram posting built into ArtHelper still works exactly as it always has. Social AutoPoster adds Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky, writes in a voice you define, and can post on a schedule without you. If you use both, you may see the same artwork offered in each; they do not talk to each other, so a post made in one does not appear in the other.

Do I need a new account or a new password?

No. It is the same ArtHelper sign-in.

I cannot find it in the menu. Where is it?

It does not have a tile in the ArtHelper app menu at the moment. Go straight to autoposter.arthelper.com and bookmark it.

Will it post anything without asking me?

Only if you set up an automation and turn it on. Until you do, nothing goes out unless you press a button yourself.

Which sites can it post to?

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Bluesky today. TikTok, Threads, X and Pinterest are not open yet — you will see them listed, but you cannot connect them.

Does it cost extra?

You can use it on a free Art Helper account, with a limit on how many posts you send each month. See Settings for the plan you are on.

Something is wrong, or I want to suggest something. Where do I go?

Use the Feedback link at the bottom of the menu — it takes you to our suggestions board, where you can also see what other artists have asked for.
