How do I transfer a 2D design to 3D?

Transfer your 2D design to the 3D model

Updated this week

Once you have a look that feels right in 2D Design, you can carry that direction into 3D after your scan has been processed. This helps you move from early inspiration into detailed scoping without starting from scratch.

This beta version of design transfer allows you to send one material selection per trade (walls, roof, and trim) from your 2D design into the 3D environment. The transferred selection determines which type of material is applied in 3D. Exact textures, colors, and finishes from 2D do not carry over. Materials are expected to be reviewed and adjusted after transfer.

Future updates will expand the transfer capability so more design decisions can move directly from 2D into 3D.

Only materials you explicitly select through Customization in 2D can be transferred. Designs saved from the inspiration feed alone will not apply materials in 3D.

Follow these steps

Once you have completed your 2D design and selected the specific material to transfer to 3D:

  • Tap Design from the action bar

  • Select 3D

  • One material per trade (walls, roof, and trim) will carry over to the matching facet in 3D

This creates a consistent starting point for scoping in 3D and helps carry design intent forward from 2D.

Note: Future updates will expand the transfer capability so more design decisions can move directly from 2D into 3D.
