AI Document Q&A lets you ask questions about your case documents and get instant answers. Every answer shows you exactly where the information came from by including:
The paragraphs that contain the answer
Which documents they're from
The page number where you can find them
Note: If you want to use Smokeball, MyCase, or Clio case documents for AI analysis, go to the Integrations help page first
Getting Started with Document Q&A:
Create a Case
Click the 'Add Case' button/menu item
Enter your Case Name
Upload your case files
Drag files Into the upload area or click to browse
Upload up to 50 files at once
Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, TXT, MSG, RTF
Click 'Add Case' to upload the files
You are redirected to the Document Q&A screen for the case. Allow some time for files to upload
Optional Upload Features:
Check 'Add Question Template' to automatically ask a list of pre-defined questions to your documents
Check 'Use OCR for scanned files?' if your documents are scanned (Note: this will cause much slower upload speeds)
Upload from a practice management system (if integrated):
Select the Clio, Smokeball, or MyCase radio button (if integrated)
Choose your case from the dropdown that appears
Select which files to upload
Asking Questions to a Case or File
Select your case or file name from the left sidebar
Type your question in the chat box
Wait a few seconds for your answer
At the end of the answer, click 'Sources' to see the exact paragraphs and documents referenced
Your chat history is automatically saved for future reference. Files can be downloaded by clicking the 'Download' icon next to the file.
