We mention “in the cart drawer” specifically, because depending on your theme, the Shopify Cart Page might still display these properties, even if they start with an underscore, as shown in the GIF below.

When enabled, any line item properties beginning with an underscore will be hidden in the cart drawer. This helps keep your cart layout clean and compact.

When disabled, line item properties starting with an underscore will be visible in the cart drawer. This provides customers with more product details, though it may make the layout appear less tidy.
