Recommendations Module

Showing upsells on the empty cart drawer

Updated over a week ago

Overview

The recommendations module allows you to select and show recommended products on an empty cart. They are found under Cart Editor > Recommendations.

Settings

Recommendation module comes with a few additional features that can be displayed on the empty cart, you may not need all of them at once, but having them handy can help leverage your customer behaviour on your store!

Edit Header Text

Sets the main heading or introductory text that appears above the recommendations on an empty cart. For example, you might encourage shoppers to add items to their cart with a short message.

Enable ‘Shop Now’ Button

Toggles the visibility of a call-to-action button. When enabled, the button will appear under the header text so customers can quickly navigate to your product list.

Edit Button Text

Controls the text displayed on the ‘Shop Now’ button.

Edit Button URL

Specifies the page or collection you want the ‘Shop Now’ button to link to. Usually set to “/collections” or a specific product collection URL.

Product Recommendations Header Text

Determines the title shown just above the recommended products list. It is commonly set to something similar to “You may also like”.

Configure Manual Recommendations

Opens a selection window where you can manually pick which products to recommend. It works very similar to our main Upsells module, however it does not require any trigger products as the selected products will show at all times.

Maximum Number of Recommendations to Display

Limits how many products appear in the recommendation list. If set to 3, for example, only three product suggestions will show up even if you selected 5. They'll show in the order you select them.

Recommendation Direction

Sets the layout for the recommended items—whether they display in a block (vertical) layout or a carousel (horizontal) layout.

The carousel option shows left/right arrows to move between product recommendations.

The block option has the upsells stacked vertically on top of each other.
