Unfortunately, the exact match setting does not really make it exact. Even if you select only one keyword with an exact match setting, like "chat gpt", most likely you will have all the different variations of this keyword at the search term level, like "chat gpt", "chatgpt", "chat got", chat jpt" and so on. And the situation gets even more complicated, if you have all these keywords already involved in Single Keyword Ad Groups (SKAG). This makes it hard to control and scale all these keywords.
Example: one keyword "chatgpt" has 4 different search terms with an exact match setting applied.

Let's imagine you have a similar situation in your campaign as depicted in the screenshot above. Cross Group Negatives algorithm will identify that the ad group "chatgpt" which is created with the keyword "chatgpt" actually contains 4 different search terms: "chatgpt", "chat gpt 4", "czat gpt", and "chat got". The search term "chatgpt" will be marked as a matching term, while the others will be marked as non-matching terms. After that, Asapty smart algorithm will scan all the other campaigns you've created for that country using our Keyword Suggester feature to locate these search terms as existing groups. It will then perform the following actions:
If you already have an ad group created for this search term, the algorithm will add it as an ad group negative keyword for the original "chatgpt" group.
If you don't have an ad group created for this search term, the algorithm will create a new ad group with this search term added as a keyword and will also add it as an ad group negative keyword for the original "chatgpt" group.
As a result, after a few days of operation, the Smart Cross-Minusing feature will create a 100% accurate exact match structure, allowing you to control and scale all keywords effectively.
