What is the Quick Start feature in Asapty

Quick Start is a proprietary Asapty tool that automatically optimizes the bid until it finds the most cost-efficient one. All you need to do is set a desired impression share and Quick Start will automatically do the optimization work until it hits the impression share goal at the best price possible.

You can enable Quick Start to optimize bids for each of your keywords or search terms at the moment of campaign creation or activate the feature for the existing campaigns in each target country.

When should you use Quick Start?

Finding the right bid is one of the most challenging and time-consuming aspects of managing Apple Search Ads. It often involves guesswork, followed by manual performance tracking and adjustments, which can be laborious and doesn't guarantee achieving desired results. Each keyword requires a unique bid rate - even within the same category and country. Seemingly similar keywords might need bids of $2, $3, $5, or $10. Importantly, the bid amount doesn't always directly correlate with the actual installation cost. For example, a $6 bid might lead to an installation cost ranging from $1.50 to $5. Setting a uniformly high bid (like $10) for all keywords in a campaign isn't cost-effective. You risk overpaying for keywords that could have been acquired more economically with lower, more targeted bids. However, if the bid is too low, you may not receive enough impressions at all.

The number of impressions you receive is reflected by the Impression Share metric. It indicates the percentage of times your ad was displayed out of the total available impressions for your keyword in each target country. Thus, the most crucial task is finding the balance: ensuring your bid is high enough to get impressions but not excessive, to maintain cost efficiency.

To address this issue, at Asapty we developed the Quick Start feature to eliminate this hassle. The algorithm automatically adjusts the bid, starting from a lower rate until it reaches the impression share goal while ensuring you get the most out of your ad budget. We recommend applying Quick Start for campaigns created within a single-keyword-ad-group account structure, as this provides the fullest control over the performance of each of your keywords individually.

How to enable Quick Start in Asapty

There are two ways of accessing this feature:

1. Keyword Suggester

Quick Start is available within Asapty Keyword Suggester where you can create and optimize campaigns from the very beginning including keyword research and sorting. At the 5th stage of Keyword Suggester, you can configure the basic settings for your future campaigns. Here you can enable the toggle of Quick Start that will be applied for your new campaigns and start optimizing them right upon creation.

While setting your impression share goal, you will also see the recommended target budget allowing you to achieve the desired impression share across all keywords in the campaign. This budget estimation ensures you're prepared to compete effectively for your chosen keywords. If you opt for a budget below our recommendation, an alert will inform you that the selected budget might be insufficient to reach your impression share goals across all keywords.

2. Optimization dashboard

If you already have several campaigns created that you would like to optimize with Quick Start, you can do so through your Optimization Dashboard. Choose campaigns, then under the Automations dropdown, choose Quick Start.

How to configure Quick Start settings

The Quick Start (QS) feature allows you to select a target impression share ranging from 10% to 50%. We've capped this at 50% because achieving higher impression shares involves more complex strategies. Targeting above 50% is better suited for our advanced auto-rules and goal-based optimization tools, rather than the initial Quick Start phase.

Note that Quick Start cannot be applied to multi-country campaigns as it requires setting an impression share goal which can vary for different target countries.

How to evaluate the results with Quick Start enabled

After launching the Quick Start algorithm, you can monitor the performance using the Quick Start status columns at the campaign, ad group, and keyword levels. At the campaign level, you'll see a ratio like "4/39," indicating that 4 keywords have achieved their QS goal, while the other 35 are still in progress. For ad groups and individual keywords, the status will be one of three options: "In Progress," "Ready," or "Failed." It's important to note that some failures are normal in every campaign. This is due to the nature of the Apple Search Ads auction system. It's not always possible to get impressions for every keyword, as the available ad inventory is distributed among all apps participating in the auction.

Budget limits

When your daily spend reaches the set budget limit, Quick Start (QS) will automatically pause its operations. It will remain inactive until the budget is increased.

In this scenario, you'll notice an alert icon next to the daily budget, indicating insufficient funds. Asapty will provide an estimate of potential lost installs due to the budget constraint as well as the recommended budget increase to keep your campaign running optimally.
