What is a label format?
A label format describes the physical characteristics of a physical label and the printer configuration expected to print this label. Labels have different widths and heights and may be printed on printers having different printing densities (dots per inches or mm), qualities and orientations. For example, a classic example would be a 4 x 6 inches label with a density of 8 dots per mm (203 dots per in). In order to simplify those combinations, you can create as many formats as needed and re-use them across multiple label models. When the formats are created, the corresponding label format will be visible on the Format ID selector found in Label Models (AL201000) summary area.
