You can't see the Label Print Action on your screen despite having it defined in Label Models

Scenario: You have your label template ready, whether you created it yourself or had the Asgard Team create it for you. You navigate to the Inventory Receipt screen (or any other screen for your desired label) and you notice that the Asgard Labels Title is not visible in the toolbar menu.

Before contacting the Asgard Support team, there are 3 steps you can take to resolve this potential issue.

Step 1: Assigned Printer

One of the reasons why the Asgard Labels title is not visible on a screen may be due to no printers being assigned to the label template. This is a common mistake that can occur where it is easy to forget, once the label template has been received or created, that no printers are assigned to the label model.

To assign a printer, navigate to the Label Models screen (AL201000) > Locate your label > Printers Tab

  1. Click on add row

  2. In the Printer ID column, select your printer.

  3. Optional: In the User column, you may assign a specific user to the printer. This would restrict the printing to only the person assigned.

  4. Click Save

Performing the above operations should add the Asgard Labels title on the assigned screen.

Step 2: Verify Screen ID assignment

If your labels are still not present within the desired screen, it may be worth verifying if the screen was correctly mapped to the label. To verify perform the following:

Navigate to the Label Models screen (AL201000) > Locate your label

  1. In the Screen ID selector, verify that the selected screen is the right screen desired.

Note: In the event that the wrong screen ID was mapped to the label, after mapping the label to the correct screen, all the expressions in the expression tab will need to be remapped to the correct fields.

Step 3: Hidden in group

If the screen was properly assigned and there is a printer assigned to the label, then the last step you can take to resolve the issue before contacting our support is to verify if the label is in a group and if it is hidden in said group.

To verify if your label is in a group, navigate to the Label Models Generic Inquiry, and under the Groups tab, you will see all the defined groups. You can verify each group to see if your label is listed within any of the groups. This can be seen by going into the group's inquiry.

If your label is not in a group, it can be good practice to go to your label and verify that the "Hide in Group" checkbox is not marked.

To do so, navigate to your label's inquiry, and uncheck the "Hide in Group" checkbox.
