Short answer

The document has been removed from the Project, and AskTuring will no longer use it to generate responses. You can only delete documents from your own Projects, not from AskTuring’s shared Collections.

Full explanation

When you delete a document from a Project, it is permanently removed from that Project’s dataset. This means:

  • It will no longer appear in search results.

  • It will no longer be used to generate responses in any chat or query linked to that Project.

  • Any previous chats or answers that referenced the deleted document will not be removed or altered in your chat history.

Deleting a document from a Project does not delete it from your computer or any other storage location where it was originally saved. If you want to use the document again, simply re-upload it to the same or another Project.

You can only delete documents from Projects where you have deletion rights. Typically, these are Projects you created yourself.

Documents inside Collections (AskTuring’s shared Projects) cannot be deleted, since they are maintained and managed by AskTuring.

There’s usually no need to delete older or outdated files. AskTuring automatically prioritizes the most recent and most relevant information in each Project when generating answers.

Tips

  • If you remove a file by mistake, you can re-upload it at any time.

  • Keep a local copy of any document you delete so you can restore it later if needed.

  • Remember: Collections are read-only. You can view and search their contents, but not delete or modify them.
