Short answer
AI Chat is for quick questions without documents, Project Chat is for working with your uploaded files, and Collections are reusable templates that help you start Projects faster.
Full explanation
AskTuring offers three related but different ways to work with information. Each one is designed for a specific purpose.
AI Chat
AI Chat lets you ask questions without uploading any documents. You are chatting directly with AskTuring’s general knowledge. This is useful when you want ideas, explanations, or help drafting content that does not depend on your own files.AI Chat does not remember past conversations and does not use Projects, Folders, or Semantic Maps. Each session stands on its own.
Project Chat
Project Chat is used when you want AskTuring to work with your documents. A Project is a secure, topic-specific space where you upload files such as PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, or PowerPoint files.By default, when you chat inside a Project, AskTuring only uses the documents in that Project. This makes answers more accurate, consistent, and grounded in your source material. Project Chat also utilizes Project Instructions, Personas, Folders, and Semantic Maps.
Collections
Collections are reusable Project templates. A Collection can include predefined structure, such as Folders, Semantic Maps, Personas, and Project Instructions.Instead of setting up the same type of Project again and again, you can create or use a Collection and instantly generate new Projects from it. Collections save time and ensure consistency across teams or repeated workflows.
