Short answer

AskTuring automatically detects duplicate files and prevents them from being uploaded again.

Full explanation

When you upload a file, AskTuring scans the document’s contents to determine if it already exists in the Project. The duplicate check is based on the actual text and data inside the file—not its name—so even if the file has been renamed, the system can still identify it as a duplicate.

If AskTuring detects a match, the upload is stopped, and you’ll see a notification that the file is a duplicate.

This content-based detection keeps your Projects organized, avoids unnecessary storage use, and ensures the AI always references the correct and most accurate version of your documents.

Example

If you upload a file named Proposal_V2.pdf that contains the same text as Client_Proposal.pdf already stored in your Sales Project, AskTuring will recognize it as a duplicate based on its contents and block the upload, even though the filenames are different.
