Short answer
Small variations are normal, but the underlying information in your documents stays the same.
Full explanation
It is normal to see small differences in answers when you run the same search more than once. This can happen for several reasons:
Different modes: Switching between Index only, Index + AI, and AI only changes the source of information, which can affect the answer.
Model behavior: The LLM you choose may phrase answers differently or highlight different points, even with the same question.
Context in the conversation: In the chat box, the AI may use your earlier messages as part of the context.
Document updates: If files in your Index have been added, removed, or updated since the last search, the AI will use the latest version.
Randomness in AI: AI systems sometimes vary their wording or structure while relying on the same facts.
In Documents only mode, the informational basis for the answer always comes from the same source material in your Index. The wording may change, but the facts remain consistent. AskTuring always includes links to the specific source page so you can verify the answer.
