Short answer
Shared Indexes are available to all AskTuring users. You can select them from the Index selector in the main Ask screen and use them just like your own private Indexes.

Full explanation
AskTuring makes certain Indexes publicly available to all users. These shared Indexes contain preloaded content — often important public documents — and can be searched, explored, and referenced without you needing to upload anything yourself.

To access a shared Index:

  1. Open the main Ask screen.

  2. Use the Index selector to choose the shared Index you want to work with.

  3. Ask questions or search within it as you would in your own private Index.

When chatting in a shared Index, you can:

  • Search all documents in that Index.

  • Click linked answers to open the original section in the document.

  • Use “Chat with Index only” mode to restrict answers to just the shared Index content.

Tips

  • Shared Indexes cannot be edited, but you can download public documents from them if they are marked as available for download.

  • Keep an eye on AskTuring announcements for new shared Index releases.
