Short answer
Click the globe icon at the bottom of the chat box. When it turns blue, web search is enabled and AskTuring will include current Internet information in your responses.

Full explanation
AskTuring’s web search feature allows you to access up-to-date information from the Internet directly within your chat. This is helpful when your question involves recent events, new data, or topics not covered in your Index.

To turn on web search:

  1. Look at the bottom of your chat window.

  2. Find the globe icon 🌐 at the bottom of the Ask Box.

  3. Click the globe icon to activate web search. When it turns blue, the feature is on.

  4. Ask your question as usual.

When web search is enabled, AskTuring will automatically search the Internet for relevant information. Your response will include:

  • A summary of what was found online.

  • Links to the original sources for verification or deeper reading.

If you turn off the globe icon (gray), AskTuring will respond only using your Index and AI knowledge, without accessing live web data.

Tips

  • Turn on web search when asking about current events, new laws, or recent research.

  • Keep it off when you only want AskTuring to answer using your secure Index content.

  • You can toggle the globe icon on or off at any time during a chat.

Examples

  • A law firm wants to confirm a new regulation’s publication date — they turn on web search to find the most recent government announcement.

  • A financial services company checks the latest interest rates — they enable the globe icon to pull in real-time market data.

  • A manufacturer researching new safety standards uses web search to review current ISO updates.

  • A real estate team turns on web search to get the latest housing market trends for a client presentation.

  • A marketing agency wants to find the latest statistics on social media engagement, and turn on web search to pull in updated data and industry reports.
